Ronald Boonacker
Colour, warmth and a sunny outlook on life. These are the three elements that typify Dutch artist Ronald Boonacker, in life and work. Boonacker is autodidact. He has traveled around the world for decades. In the most diverse places on earth, he is touched by landscapes, tropical beaches, islands, palm trees and sunsets. The immense beauty, the immeasurable greatness: Boonacker finally found his way to capture the indescribable experience of the surrounding nature.
In his studios in Amsterdam and the Mexican Acapulco, the artist works on canvases and screen prints with titles such as Terra di Toscana, Route du Soleil and Roads to Rome. Boonacker mainly works with acrylic paint in bright shades and with strong color accents, sometimes alternating with silver or gold. No matter how cosmopolitan his art is, the basis for his canvases lies in the Dutch traditional still lifes and landscapes. Although he can live anywhere, Boonacker's roots are unmistakably in the Netherlands.
